The wait is over! After reviewing all of the submissions to our Mobile Growth Stories Challenge, it’s time to announce the winners! Our judging panel (below) were impressed by the breadth and depth of the stories we received.
As mobile developers ourselves, we struggled growing our own apps and coming up with ideas on growth. We hosted this competition in order to celebrate developers, marketers, and product managers by giving them an opportunity to share their experiences in mobile app growth with our community. The three Prizes are $5,000 each and all qualified submissions will also receive mobile growth swag baskets.

Two Apps Are Better Than One – An App-to-App Experience That Drove 500% More Installs by Brittney Brenner, Digital Marketing Specialist at SpotHero
Brittney’s growth story describes the integration between Waze and SpotHero. According to Brittney, “by providing this direct app-to-app experience, [they] effectively increased app installs by 532% in the first two months.”
Share Because You Want To – Sharing by design in Blackbox by Ryan McLeod, Creator of Blackbox Puzzles
Ryan describes the sharing and incentive mechanisms he built into Blackbox Puzzles, his award-winning mobile game. His plan has led to the referral of 164,884 new players by 112,454 influencers (and counting!).
Optimizing Hobnob For Growth by Tiffany Quezada, Co-founder of Hobnob
Tiffany and the Hobnob team used Branch to allow their team to present a personalized custom onboarding experience through deferred deep links. Guests who receive a text invite are converted into app users through two distinct funnels: guests who convert directly from SMS through Branch, and guests who convert through the web invite.
